Sehenswürdigkeiten
Ziemlich genau im geografischen Mittelpunkt Nepals befindet sich die Stadt Pokhara, etwa 200 Kilometer westlich der nepalesischen Hauptstadt Kathmandu.
Pokhara zählt etwa 190.000 Einwohner und ist damit die drittgrößte Stadt des Landes. Im Süden grenzt der Phewa See an Pokhara, er ist mit seiner Fläche von 4,4 km² der zweitgrößte See Nepals.
Besonders beliebt ist die aufstrebende Stadt als Ausgangspunkt für Touren in das nahegelegene Annapurnamassiv.
Vom südlichen Stadtrand aus kann man zudem schon den Hauptkamm des Himalajas mit den drei Achttauserndern sehen. Ebenfalls sehr sehenswert sind die nicht weit entfernten Devi Falls, ihre Besonderheit ist, dass das Wasser hier wie in eine Art Loch stürzt.
